Prawn & wonton soup

How to cook Prawn & wonton soup


  • 1.5L chicken strain
  • 3cm piece gingerroot, cut into thin strips
  • 18 frozen wontons*
  • 24 green prawns, raw, deveined, tails integral
  • 100g Chinese barbecued pork*, sliced
  • 100g fresh shiitake mushrooms
  • 150g baby pakchoi, quartered
  • 2 tbs soy, plus extra to service
  • Thinly sliced spring onions, to dress
  • Sweet chilli sauce, to help

How to:

  • Place stock and ginger in a large pan and bring to roil. Add wontons and cook for 3 proceedings, then add prawns, pork and mushrooms and cook for 1 bit. Add bok choy and cook for a further minute until wilted, then add soy. Serve in bowls garnished with the scallion, and with extra soy and sweet chilli unofficially.

  • * Wontons are from Asian and selected supermarkets.

  • * Chinese grilled pork is from Asian butchers.
